Aftershave is a lotion, available in the form of a gel , balm or liquid, used in cosmetics by men after shaving to counteract any irritation or traumatic phenomena that may occur with this practice.

Aftershave contains antiseptic substances, such as alcohol, used to prevent any infections that could be generated following local trauma due to shaving, such as small cuts. In addition, aftershaves also contain scented essences as well as compounds used to soften the skin.
